Gorgeous Girl

After the bath, I plunked my girls in front of the mirror to brush their hair. I gave themhairbrush to use as a microphone and we played, “gorgeous girl.” I interviewed them as if they were celebrities and asked them how it felt to be so gorgeous both inside and out. It built confidence.

I taught my children to be good people. Even if someone has a pretty face, they can be very ugly if they’re mean. Beauty comes from inside a person. I told them they can achieve anything they want and their options are limitless. I told them that there’s no such thing as “never,” and no such thing as “can’t.” I taught them that they have a right to take up space in the universe and deserve to accomplish anything they desire. “Gorgeous Girl” was about instilling values and confidence into my girls. I wanted them to know how wonderful they are no matter how their hair looked on any given day. Their inner beauty always shines and that makes them gorgeous girls.
